UC Berkeley’s Chicanx Latinx Alumni Association is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships and internship opportunities for UCB undergraduates and partners with the LRC on events. In recent years, CLAA has worked to connect California chapters and has begun expanding nation-wide.

René Licón serves as the President of CLAA, Esperanza Vielma as the Vice-President, Michael Trevino as the Treasurer, Marissa Vasquez as the Secretary and Christine Castro serves as on-site Program Manager at Shorb House.

As a business and social work undergraduate at UC Berkeley, I’m excited to build on my previous military and private sector experience to create stronger private-public partnerships and promote the social mobility of under-served communities.

Gladys Emeli Flores

Hello! My name is Gladys Flores. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I am a second year undergraduate student hoping to major in Psychology with a minor in Disability Studies. This Fall, I have been granted the honor of being a fellow for the Chicanx Latinx Alumni Association, where I hope to assist in expanding the reach of CLAA in order to continue helping students make the most of their potential with the support means necessary to succeed. What I love most about CLAA is it provides a sense of community through platforms like Conexiones that remind students that there is a community at Berkeley that supports them.
